What I write about

Pickleball rules, scoring, how to play and how to choose gear, for players in the United States. I cover topics people actually search for, and I skip products I wouldn't recommend to a friend.

How guides are researched

  • Rules come from the official USA Pickleball rulebook. Guides name the edition (for example, the 2026 rulebook) and cite rule numbers so you can look them up.
  • Gear picks and measurements come from named independent testers, with a link to each. I say whose numbers they are and how they tested. I don't blend them into a ranking of my own.
  • Claims I can't verify are left out or clearly labeled as opinion.

Testing: what I do and don't claim

I don't claim hands-on testing I haven't done. If a guide is based on published reviews and lab data, it says so near the top. If I test something myself, I will say what I tested and for how long.

Use of AI tools

I use AI tools to help with research and drafting, and for the illustrations on the site, which are AI-generated and labeled as illustrations rather than photos of real products. Facts, rules and figures are checked against the cited sources before a guide is published.

Independence

This site has no ads, no affiliate links and no sponsors. Nobody pays for placement, ratings or coverage. If I ever add advertising or affiliate links, I will disclose it on the affected pages and in the privacy policy before it goes live.

Updates and corrections

Rules and products change. Guides show a "last checked" or "updated" date, and I review them when a new rulebook edition or product version is released. If you spot a mistake, email contact@syedrayyan.com and I will correct it and note the change.
